Letter Opener 3 compatibly with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard

I’m happy to announce Letter Opener Version 3 for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Snow Leopard required a complete rewrite of Letter Opener. A big thx here to Scott Morrison of Indev Software for figuring out how to get Mail Plug-ins working in 64-bit mode!

The upgrade is free for everybody who bought Letter Opener after June 8, 2009. For all other users an upgrade is available.

You can download the upgrade from here.

Congratulations and thanks for getting the Snow Leopard compatibility resolved so quickly! I was only without Letter Opener for a week and it made me realise just how important it is to my day. Normally it operates so transparently that I’m not aware how much of my mail comes as the dreaded winmail.dat ..

I just updated my Snow Leopard to 10.6.4, and the Mail app gave me a dialog that said
“Incompatible Plug-ins Disabled. Mail has disabled the following plug-ins: Letter Opener. Contact the makers of these plug-ins for versions that are compatible with Mail 4.3 and Message 4.3″

I now have Mail.app 4.3 (build 1081)

Thanks for putting the upgrade out so quickly. Mail Opener solves a really annoying problem when using a Mac.
